Strength

Overall the presentation was on point and clear to all. Everyone felt my concepts were strong.

Talking about concept, everyone liked the audio lighter idea which was prototype 2. They said they see a potential in this idea. Apart from that someone also mentioned that the electrical simulation band idea Is also great and can be explained more a little I.e., You can have a person do a bunch of gestures to keep the user away from smoking.

Weakness and open questions

People had a lot of comments and questions on the audio lighter for instance will there be a pre recorded message or real time voice update. Also, had doubts as to how effective it’ll be in settling down their urge to smoke.

People also mentioned that I should have user testing and interviews regarding the prototype. They suggested to include breathing or mindful habits that would help control smoking since such activities help to calm down.

Another feedback was about the stress release kit, which was my prototype 3. People found it interesting but had questions if there’ll be specific rules or times for specific tools that people can choose from.

And a general feedback about my presentation was to add soft background music to keep it uniform which I found interesting since it was my first time giving a presentation in the form of a video.

Future plan

  1. I am exploring objects for the stress release kit that could be useful for the people at anytime.
  2. I remember Louisa feedback on the band explaining how mala (string of prayer beads) could be one of the solutions to make people calm. I could like to explore that and do some user testing/interviews regarding the same.
  3. Need to start thinking to create working prototype for audio lighter since lot of positive feedback came for it. I would to have a physical prototype as a proof of concept for this thesis.
  4. Figuring out features for the mobile application which could be paired with the band and audio lighter as well. Also, adding the breathing/mindful activities which might help them calm down.
