Personas Make Users Memorable for Product Team Members & Why Personas Fail
This was a great read. I agree with what all mentioned in the articles. Talking about the first one: Personas Make Users Memorable for Product Team Members. I agree that Personas are fictional yet, realistic and are described as of they are real. Personas are somewhat real, in my opinion.
You create personas after the User research, User Interviews, and Surveys you did during your study, showcasing the group of people/Users to help you analyze what they want. It’s like a data visualization for the group of people you interviewed, making it easier for the product team members to remember who they are creating the solution for.
It consists of all the necessary details like pain points, motivations, goals, failures, behaviors, etc., to understand the users and help them create the solution for targeted users.
Talking about the second article: Why Personas Fail
User personas can be a great way to summarize your users, but there are pitfalls in the creation process. User Personas Represent Groups of People (not Distinct Individuals)
When building user personas for user experience design, it’s a common pitfall to rely on anecdotal information. Instead, look at all the available data in aggregate when constructing your personas — not just a handful of interesting individual customers/users that you think to capture the essence of your “best-guess” personas.
I think following this approach will empower your team to deliver products that your users will love.
